About This Place

💡Did you know?Richard Serra's "East-West/West-East" consists of four steel plates, each over 14 meters tall, perfectly aligned across 1.6 km of desert.

Zekreet is home to one of Qatar's most dramatic landscapes — a wide desert plain punctuated by flat-topped mesa formations. The peninsula is also famous for Richard Serra's "East-West/West-East" installation: four massive steel plates rising from the desert floor in perfect alignment, commissioned by Qatar Museums in 2014.
