Did you know?During the 2006 Asian Games opening ceremony, Aspire Tower was lit with a real Olympic-style flame visible from across Doha.
Known as the Torch Doha, Aspire Tower stands 300 meters tall at the heart of the Aspire Zone sports complex. Built for the 2006 Asian Games, it houses a five-star hotel and a revolving restaurant at its summit, remaining one of the tallest and most recognizable structures in Qatar.

Construction Milestones

2005
Construction of the 300-meter torch-shaped tower begins, with a compressed two-year schedule to meet the Asian Games deadline.

Aspire Tower is completed and lit with a real flame for the opening ceremony, the blaze visible from across Doha.
